The Hiker is based on the same platform as the Comfort and Athletic.

The Performance Footwear line is designed with considerable extra depth for a total of 9/16ths of an inch which allows for a truly custom depth fit. A combination of a high-quality insole 1/4-inch-deep, along with two other removable spacers, one at 1/8th inch and one at 3/16ths, enables the practitioner multiple options when addressing various pathologies like leg length discrepancy (LLD). LLD is considered the root cause of lower back pain where the hip alignment needs to be adjusted. This is a very common cause of pain for people who work on their feet all day and have LLD.
The extra depth feature is also designed to accommodate functional orthotics as well as most bracing and ankle / foot orthoses (AFO’s.)

The line has also been approved for code A5500 for diabetics and are covered under Medicare’s Therapeutic Shoes for Diabetics program.

The Slip Resistant rubber outsole combined with the orthopedic design of the upper provides the solution for people who suffer from working on their feet all day. The depth orthopedic upper built on a wide stable last to ensure added balance and control combined with the slip resistant outsole, minimizes the risk of fall considerably.
